Butterfly Bush - Guinevere

Guinevere Butterflybush, Buddleia davidii 'Guinevere', is a beauty with large, purple to black, fragrant flowers. It is a vigorous grower and prolific bloomer. It makes a wonderful cut flower, and of course, very attractive to butterflies. Graceful green foliage arches with flowers from summer into fall. The common name aptly describes this garden beauty. It comes alive in late spring, but it's worth the wait. Flowers form on current growth. Guinevere is best pruned in spring and will quickly grow back with many flowering canes. It likes full sun, is deer resistant, fragrant, and nice as a cut flower. With the lustrous, dark blue-green foliage, it creates a harmonious balance and a focal point to any yard or garden. Butterfly bushes prefer full sun and must receive eight or more hours of sun a day to thrive and get the best blooms. Cut faded flowers off of bush regularly to keep it blooming throughout the summer. ... more information
