Gomphrena - Strawberry Fields

The Gomphrena Strawberry Fields, 'Gomphrena haageana', will delight you with it's vivid, striking red flower clusters. It is a native of Texas and Mexico so they are recommended for areas with hot and humid summers. Strawberry fields has 3/4 inch wide, round, papery. lover-like flower heads. They bloom from summer into early fall. The clover-like vivid red flowers will brighten your garden. Strawberry Fields prefers full sun and will grow in any well drained garden soil but prefers light, sandy soil. They do not require any special care and are fairly drought tolerant.
