The Waltham Butternut is particularly exciting because the solid stems that resist boring type insects and the nutty flavor with the wonderful flesh texture. The Waltam is the most popular butternut grown. The Waltham squash has smooth skin and is light tan in color with a round bottom and a big thick neck.
